Taxonomic Etymology:
A boldly patterned gecko with a net-like appearance.
Coleonyx — From Greek koleos (κολεός), “sheath,” and onyx (ὄνυξ), “claw.” The name means “sheathed claw,” likely referring to the gecko’s retractile or sheathed claw structure.
