A total of 85
KAMP
Routes have been run, with more being
added each year. Participants are assigned
a roadside route where the survey is
conducted several times during the calling
season, to catch the early through late
breeding species. Each calling survey
route has 10 stops, at each stop the
volunteer listens for 5 minutes to determine
what species are calling. Typically,
a route takes a couple hours to complete
and is conducted in the evening, when
frogs are most active in their vocalizations.
Despite efforts to recruit volunteers
for all routes, many routes have yet
to be monitored.
